About meTo me, painting is a necessary act of expression and a physical need for freedom in thinking and action. The American abstract expressionists were convinced that meaningful, honest painting was best achieved through improvisation. Manipulation of paint as I respond to the movement and effects obtained by using various materials and techniques allows my eyes, brain and hands to follow the emerging images and colour combinations on canvas. Then the painting begins.
